Some People Are SO Stupid

I really don't know how some people make it through life. I heard about this woman yesterday, who is apparently very beautiful and college educated, but you wouldn't know it by her day to day actions. Supposedly, she put a pitcher under the water dispenser in her fridge door (to make some lovely Lipton Cold Brew Iced Tea, which, according to the STORY I heard is her favorite*) and promptly FORGOT about it. Shortly thereafter, she had a HUGE puddle of weak iced tea all over her newly laid tile floor. Apparently she forgot about the pitcher for so long that it took two bath towels to mop up the water AND she had to pull out her fridge to dry up the water that had seeped underneath it.

GAWD, some people are such morons. I even think I heard that she has, at one time or another, forgotten to turn her Crock Pot ON and OFF. I'm so glad I'm NOTHING like her.

*From what I heard, Iced Tea is her beverage of choice (during the daytime hours, of course) and Cold Brew perfectly supports her lazy ass because all she has to do is fill a pitcher, add some tea bags and VOILA! 10 minutes later she's got iced tea. Of course, it's not necessarily time/energy saving when she forgets to remove the pitcher before it overflows. Then, it takes a lot of extra time and effort to clean up. But, I'm sure that only happens once a week doesn't happen all that often.

I would do this. I have done many things like this. And it's probably not over yet.

I recommend standing right there until the pitcher fills. Though I would never do that, either.

Oh I do that when I fill the dogs water - except we don't have a fancy fridge like that women - so I have to use the sink. So ha! See what you get with a fancy fridge? A big ol' mess. Me? I just waste water until the dog starts crying from thirst.

I do stupid shit ALL the time. I leave water boiling on the stove until it has all evaporated and the pan is seared black,at least once a week. Of course, this sets off the smoke alarm and wakes my napping newborn. I kind of want to punch myself in the face every time I do it.

The one I do all the time is leave something boiling and forget about it. Last night, I was sitting at my computer and was all, "Hm, what's that smell? Smells like burning metal..." and then, 5 minutes later, realized it WAS burning metal as I'd left boiling water on so long all the water had evaporated and all I had was a really, really overheated pot. Yeah. I'm so S-M-R-T

What a freaking moron.

I would NEVER do anything like that.

Go to your favorite big box store and buy a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea maker. I live by it in the summer. Takes about 20 minutes or so and perfect iced tea. And a dry floor. ;)

I cannot even tell you how many times I have left the bathtub water running for a luxurious soak only to realize a long time later that not only had I not gotten to take that bath, but I had not turned the water off either. Needless to say, after replacing 2 bathroom floors and fixing the living room ceiling 4 times (over 14 years), I am no longer allowed to take baths unless hubbie is already upstairs in bed so he can turn off the water when I forget that I am running a bath.

Remember the story about the woman who threw away, like, 10 chicken dinners because they never reached an internal temp of over 77 degrees? Yeah, she figured out later it was set to celsius the entire time.

If you want carbonized rolls to go with your tea, come on over to our house. Our oven burns each and every one to a deep black crisp..!

Invest in an ice tea maker. Problem solved.
