I Heart Ben Affleck (& Pinot Noir)

It's Make Me Laugh Monday!

But first I need to clear up some nasty rumors I've heard buzzing about, following my last post, I'm NOT Drinking Any F*cking Merlot! I like Pinot Noir & Merlot. They're just not what I would normally order above anything else. Most of the time I would go for a Syrah or a Cabernet Franc or a Sangiovese or a Cabernet Sauvignon first. Having said that, the Hitching Post's Highliner is de-lish. Having said that, and as my sister pointed out in her comment yesterday, my friends Ryan & Jessica (also known as Val (Kilmer - the good days) & Barbie) have a winery and produce their own awesome, fabulous, stupendous Pinot Noir. Now, having said THAT, I really thoroughly enjoy their Syrah and their Cabernet Franc. You can find them at Carr Winery. While you're there, check out their pictures because there really is a striking resemblance to the aforementioned celebrities. If you consider Barbie a celebrity.

Now, on to the Make Me Laugh Monday-ness of this post. As Jen from And Then Sum pointed out, Jimmy has come up with a rebuttal to the Sarah Silverman/Matt Damon video I featured a few weeks ago. Holey-cow, if only I had friends like these.

Go visit Absolutely Bananas for more of Make Me Laugh Monday!

And, just to prime you for what's to come here later in the week...a look into an email conversation with my newest stalking victim internet friend, The Bloggess.

I Am NOT Drinking Any F*cking Merlot

Or, Meghan's recent trip to The Hitching Post, made uber-famous by the movie Sideways. Well, at least kinda famous.

My review? It was yummy, as usual. Nuf' said. But, how can you go wrong with a Filet cooked Medium Rare over an oak pit fire? I'm pretty sure you can't.
I drank this...
$7.00/glass

And this....
$14.00/glass

I had DJ take these pictures (on his phone, hence the quality) to send to my sister, who is a serious Highliner fan. There's a reason for that. It's good stuff. And I'm not even, generally speaking, a Pinot Noir person. But, shhh...don't tell the folk 'round these parts. That's a bit of a sin. Plus, this document's Zach's first time sitting in a high chair like a real boy. He ate applesauce. It was a milestone. Notice how he's eyeballing my wine?

Now, I realize that Sideways was really a movie you either loved or hated. I fall in the small group of people who were like, "Eh. It was okay." It was neat to see all kinds of local places featured in it. It did A LOT for our local econcomy as MANY a person flocked to see all the sites and have the "Sideways Experience." In fact, they still do. You can take a "Sideways Tour" of the area and see all the places that Jack & Miles visited. If you ever do, I ask three things of you:

1) Call me, so I can come along. This is most important. I'm always up for a day trip to enjoy good food and wine. Always.

2) Stop at The Los Olivos Cafe, which is awesome and I never get to eat there.

3) Please, for the love of all that is good, please, PLEASE don't drink any fucking Merlot. Just kidding. I don't discriminate against any type of wine.

Seriously? I've Had Too Much Wine

I admit I have a problem. NO, not that kind of problem, although I have had a few glasses of wine tonight. I use the word "seriously" too much. It's almost like I'm a regular cast member of Grey's Anatomy (seriously, how awesome would that be?). I realized it today when I was commenting on this post. I used the word 327 times. I did. Seriously.

I'm not sure why, but I use it a lot. It might have something to do with my, gasp!, sarcastic nature. As if I need to qualify my statments with "the" word so that people know I'm being "serioius" and not just sarcastic. Wow, that's deep. How much wine have I had tonight?

Why, you ask, have I had excessive amounts of wine? It MAY have something to do with this post. I seriously agreed with her and, in solidarity, poured myself ANOTHER glass of wine while watching the moron President speak. I needed it. The JerkHole Republican DJ and I argued the entire time. Shocking, I know. Anyway, less than one year left. I have my new counter (scroll down...keep going...yeah, there it is!) keeping track. I am planning a party. You're all invited to that one, too. Even if it's another Republican, it will be better than what we've got going on now. I'm just saying. The Simpsons said it perfectly last night. If I can find the clip online somewhere I'll share it with you. Seriously, I will.

Okay. That's enough. It's time for bed, ish.
