Why A (Almost!) 3 Year Old Needs To Take A Nap

Because if he doesn't, he falls asleep in the car at 6:45pm and doesn't wake up when he gets home. He stands on his bed while his mother wrestles his pajamas onto him with one hand and keeps him from toppling over with the other, all the while saying random half-asleep things like, "No, I don't want to" "Where's my blankie" "Turn the TV off" (It wasn't on) "Where's Manny & Ben" (his cousins he'd been playing with) "Put the baby down" (no baby in sight). Then, falls into bed, sound asleep again. UNTIL, that is, he is WIDE awake at 6:00am ON SATURDAY morning. Which shouldn't be a surprise being as he fell asleep at 6:45pm the night before.

Things we've done so far this morning:

Made 7 trips to the bathroom. One for pee, the rest for poop. One trip was successful. I'll let you guess which.

Giggle. "I'll let you guess which." HAHAHA. Love it.

My daughter went to bed last night at 6:45, too. She woke up at 6:00 Am. We should've gone out for coffee.

We DREAM about sleeping until 6am at our house. My bastard son woke up at 430 this morning . . .

What is it with these kids? They have no appreciation for the sacredness of the weekend morning.
